Thermoguard High Build Metal Primer is a corrosion resistant primer recommended for use on steel and cast iron before applying Thermoguard Thermocoat W. Thermoguard High Build Metal Primer is a quick drying, metal primer for structural steel. Thermoguard High Build Metal Primer will protect exposed structural steel during construction and protect internal steelwork thereafter.

Steel and cast iron should be free from rust and millscale and primed with Thermoguard High Build Metal Primer to 75 microns DFT (or an alternative good quality anti-corrosive primer compatible with intumescent paints) in accordance with Thermoguard's instructions.
Galvanised steel should be degreased with a suitable etch primer such as Manor 1 Pack Etch Primer CT (see related products)
Thermoguard High Build Metal PrimerMay be left without further overcoating or it can be topcoated with an appropriate conventional paint where no fire resistance is required.
