PPG Sigma Steelguard 581 White 20L
PPG Sigma Steelguard 581 is a one component, thin film, intumescent coating for protecting structural steel and concrete from fire.
Steelguard 581 is water based, quick drying, and is suitable for C1 and C2 internal environments (ISO 12944). No topcoat is required for dry internal (C1) environments.
Steelguard 581 provides up to 90 minutes of protection from cellulosic fires, 60 minutes of SCI assessment of beams with circular web openings, 150 minutes of protection to concrete beams and columns from cellulosic fires and 360 minutes of protection to concrete ceilings and walls from cellulosic fires.
It is good for on-site application in an industrial environment.
Steelguard 581 can be applied at up to 700 microns DFT in a single coat and comes in a white, matt finish.
Application (at 20C):
- Stir well before use
- Apply with airless spray (brush or roller for small areas only)
- Touch dry: 2 hours
- Recoatable: 16 hours
- Coverage: 1.0m2 per litre at 700 microns
- Volume solids: 70%
- Recommended dry film thickness: 200-700 microns per coat
- Recommended thinner: tap water (normally no thinner required)
