PPG Sigma Steelguard 560 (FM 560) White
PPG Sigma Steelguard 560 (FM560) is a one component, thin film, intumescent coating which gives structural steel 120 minutes of protection against cellulosic fires.
Steelguard 560 is solvent based but is quick drying and is good for both off-site or on-site application in an industrial environment.
It is suitable for C1 to C4 internal and external environments (ISO 12944). No topcoat is required for dry internal (C1) environments. Steelguard 560 is weather resistant for up to 12 months without a topcoat, provided the coating is applied in accordance with information sheet 1222 and is not subject to running or pooling water, high humidity or immersion conditions.
Steelguard 560 can be applied at up to 1000 microns DFT in a single coat and comes in a white, matt finish.
Application (at 20C):
- Stir well before use
- Apply with airless spray (brush or roller for small areas only)
- Touch dry: 20 minutes
- Recoatable: 4 hours
- Coverage: 0.97m2 per litre at 700 microns
- Volume solids: 68%
- Recommended dry film thickness: 200-1000 microns per coat
- Recommended thinner: 21-06 (Amercoat 65). Normally no thinner required
