PPG Sigma SigmaDur 550 H (SigmaDur 568)

PPG Sigma SigmaDur 550 H (formerly SigmaDur 568) is a two component, high solids, high build polyurethane gloss topcoat which can be applied directly to metal.

SigmaDur 550 H is part of the ISO 12944-6 system for steel C5-I high and offers good colour and gloss retention as well as good resistance to splash of mineral and vegetable oils, paraffin, aliphatic petroleum products and mild chemicals.

SigmaDur 550 H has no time window for recoating, so it can be recoated even after long atmospheric exposure and it cures at temperatures as low as -5C.

Drying and curing times can be significantly reduced using PPG 866M Accelerator.

It is available in most BS4800, RAL and NCS colours.

Application:

• Stir well before use
• Apply with brush, roller or spray
• Touch dry: 3 hours (at 20C)
• Recoatable: 8 hours
• Full cure after 7 days
• Coverage: 14.0m² per litre at 50 microns, 9.3m² per litre at 75 microns
• Volume solids: 70%
• Recommended dry film thickness: 50-150 microns depending on system
• Recommended thinner: 21-06
