PPG Sigma SigmaDur 550 (Amercoat 450E, Amercoat 450S)

PPG Sigma SigmaDur 550 (formerly Amercoat 450E, Amercoat 450S) is a two component polyurethane gloss finish for steel used in marine and industrial environments, including bridges, pipelines, refineries, tanks and storage facilities.

SigmaDur 550 is non-yellowing, highly resistant to weathering and UV light, and is highly durable for up to 10 years, saving money on maintenance costs and time.

Not only is SigmaDur 550 resistant to weathering but it also works to protect the coating against chemicals and splash from oils, paraffins and aliphatic petroleum products commonly found in a marine/industrial environment.

SigmaDur 550 is Highways Approved Item No 168 and is part of the WIMS (Water Information Management Solution) specification and NORSOK M-501.

It is available in most BS 4800 and RAL colours.

Price includes hardener.

Application:

• Stir well before use
• Apply with brush, roller or spray
• Touch dry: 1 hour (at 20C)
• Recoatable: 6 hours
• Full cure after 4 days
• Coverage: 11.0m² per litre at 50 microns
• Volume solids: 55%
• Recommended dry film thickness: 50-60 microns depending on system
• Recommended thinner: 21-06
