PPG Sigma SigmaCover 456 HS

PPG Sigma SigmaCover 456 HS is a two component, high solids epoxy designed for use as a primer or coating on steel and concrete structures. It is a polyamide cured, recoatable zinc phosphate coating that has excellent rust preventing properties, making it ideal for industrial and coastal buildings which need to withstand adverse weather conditions. Highways Agency item No 116.

SigmaCover 456 HS delivers a tough, long-term flexible coating which will not crack, flake, blister or peel if the surface moves or bends. It cures at temperatures as low as -5C, is easily applied by airless spray or brush and can be recoated with various two component and conventional coatings, even after long periods.

SigmaCover 456 is available in a wide range of BS and RAL colours and comes in an eggshell finish.

SigmaCover 456 does not have any lead or chromate-containing pigments.

Application:                       

• Stir well before use
• Apply with brush or airless spray
• Touch dry: 6 hours (at 20C)
• Recoatable: 8 hours
• Full cure after 4 days
• Coverage: 7.3m² per litre at 100 microns
• Volume solids: 73%
• Recommended dry film thickness: 75-150 microns depending on system
• Recommended thinner: 91-92
