PPG Sigma SigmaCover 456

PPG Sigma SigmaCover 456 is a two component, high build, polyamide cured recoatable general-purpose epoxy build-coat in protective coating systems. For use on steel and concrete structures exposed to
atmospheric land or marine conditions.

It offers durability and excellent corrosion resistance to a variety of substrates and can be recoated with various two component and conventional coatings even after long periods of weathering. SigmaCover 456 also offers excellent resistance to water and splash of mild chemicals.

SigmaCover 456 is suitable for structural steel and concrete appliances coastal and industrial environments and results in a black, grey or white, semi-gloss finish in standard colours, as well as a range of BS and RAL colours. It can be applied to most aged, sound alkyd, chlorinated rubber and epoxy coatings.

It is easily applied by airless spray and brush, can be applied in humid conditions (maximum relative humidity 95%) and cures at temperatures as low as -10C.

SigmaCover 456 is part of the ISO 12944-6 system for steel C4 high.

Application:                                                                                                                 

• Stir well before use
• Apply with brush, roller or spray
• Mixing ration base 4 parts: 1 part activator
• Pot life when mixed 4 hours at 20oC
• Touch dry: 2 hours (at 20C)
• Recoatable: 3 hours                      
• Full cure after 4 days
• Coverage: 6.5m² per litre at 100 microns
• Volume solids: 65%
• Recommended dry film thickness: 75-150 microns depending on system
• Recommended thinner: 91-92
