MIPA PU 250-90 2K PU Acrylic Topcoat full gloss
High quality 2K polyurethane acrylic paint with a long open time for high quality coating on metal facades, machinery and steel constructions. PU 250 is especially suited to rolling and brushing with the A60 activator. It can also be used as a DTM (Direct to Metal) with appropriate surface preparation. Can also be used successfully as a U.V. resistant pigment colour over 2k epoxies such as EP 100-20. Sheen levels available 10%, 30%, 50% and 70% are mixed at 5:1 (click here for "below full-gloss" options) and so are sold in six kilo packs. The full gloss is 4:1 mix and so is sold in a 5kilo pack which is priced accordingly

Preparation
remove oil, grease, rust, mill scale, rolling skins, as well as other substances impairing the function of the coating
Attention: A direct adhesion cannot be taken as granted due to most different kinds of metals, alloys, metallic and conversion coatings and so on. The adhesion must therefore be tested on the original metal substrate.
- Steel:
- blast to cleaning degree Sa 2½, remove blast residues and overcoat promptly
- de-rust with hand and power tools to degree of cleanliness St 3
- degrease with appropriate solution
- Zinced substrates:
- clean the surface with the ammonia solution
- sweep blast
- Aluminium:
- degrease with appropriate solution and sand thoroughly with sandpaper P 360/400 and clean subsequently with silicone remover
- Powder-coated and coil-coated facade elements:
preclean with cleaner/degreaser, wash with water and clean again with silicon remover and in case of chalking old paintworks apply appropriate primer to consolidate the substrate.

Spray, conventional, air-assisted airless and airless.

Drying Time: @20oC,
Fast activator: dust dry 15-30 min, touch dry 2-3h, dry to assembly 12h
Standard activator: dust dry 30-45 min, touch dry 3-4h, dry to assembly 16h
Fully cured after 7 - 8 days (at 20 °C).
Theoretical coverage:
48 - 50 m²/l, 5:1 by weight with PU 900-25, for 10 m dry film thickness
