Manor Fast Primer 5L
A high-quality anti corrosive primer undercoat, available in a short colour range to improve the
coverage of topcoat colours. Exhibits excellent adhesion and corrosion resistance, and dries with a
low sheen which promotes excellent gloss hold out for the topcoat.
Typically used as a primer undercoat for any sheet metal, steelwork and OEM components prior to
finishing in Manor QD Enamel or Fast Enamel. Not suitable for use under 1 Pack Polyurethanes. General purpose primer where added protection and film build is required.
Previously painted steel; remove rust back to sound metal. Remove loose or flaky paint. Bring
forward by patch priming. Sound previously painted surfaces should be lightly abraded prior to
application in order to promote adhesion. Always perform a test area when applying over an
unknown previous coating.
Preparation; Remove dust. Remove oil or grease with Panel Cleaner. If using a waterborne degreaser remove fully.Test a small area prior to painting.
Aluminium and galvanised steel; abrade and pre-treat with Manor Mordant Solution, Manor Chromate Free Wash Primer or Manor 1 Pack Etch Primer in accordance with data sheets for these products.
Colour Options; White, Black, Beige, Grey and Red Oxide in 5 Litres.
Film thickness; 40 microns dry and 100 microns wet.
Coverage; 10 sq metres/litre at 40 microns dry film thickness
Dry heat resistance; 80oC
Application.
Airless spray; Not recommended
Conventional spray Up to 15% thinner may be added to suit equipment. A viscosity of 40-55 secs BS B4 Flow Cup is recommended.
Brush Roller; Small areas may be brushed.
Recommended Thinner; Industrial Thinner
Film thickness' Dry Wet
Minimum 25 microns 50 microns
Maximum 60 microns 120 microns
Drying times; Touch dry 30mins at 20oC
Overcoating; May be overcoated with Manor QD Enamel, Manor Fast Enamel or Manor Synthetic Enamel.
Notes; When re-coating takes place after 7 days abrade the surface to gain adhesion.
