Franchi & Kim Aquafond Industrial Water Based DTM Standard Colours
Aquafond is a single pack Industrial Water Based DTM (Direct To Metal) coatings providing a protective primer and finish coat in one. Aquafond is tintable to any RAL/BS/NCS shade and delivers a satin finish. Aquafond contains anti-corrosive additives along with flash-rusting inhibitors. Suitable for use over many substrates including ferrous and galvanised substrates. Aquafond can also be used as a tinted primer and will readily accept most water-based and solvent based topcoats for enhanced protection and increase gloss level options.Aquafond by Franchi & Kim is mixed exclusively in the UK by Avenue group.
This system lends itself well to various applications, both internal and external. An ideal alternative to traditional solvent based primer and top-coat system.
Typical uses.
Structural steel, skip, general fabrication, ironworks, gates, railings, plant-hire and agricultural equipment.

- Water thin-able • Improved colour retention in exterior exposures when compare to similar solvent based equivalents.
- Arguably tougher/harder when cured, when compared to solvent based equivalent products.
- The ability to control the cure, delaying or hastening drying by increasing or reducing air-flow over the curing surface.
Drying times at 20oC
Dust free 15-20* minutes.
Touch dry 2-3* hours.
Recoat-able 2-6 hours Full Cure 7 days.
*Air movement will speed up the curing process.
Preparation.
Care needed in terms of preparation; surfaces should be thoroughly clean, de-greased and dry prior to application.
Application.
Aquafond is ideally suited to spraying although brush and roller applications can also be considered.

Aquafond is available in a wide range of colours, RAL, NCS and Pantone shades and delivers a Satin sheen.
Pricing.
There are two groups of pricing, Strong and Standard colours.
Strong colours are categorised as Reds, Yellows, Oranges, Purples and Pinks.
